About Evilena’s Red Dresser

Evilena’s Red Dresser is a furniture, home decor and women’s boutique consignment store. It is an eclectic mix of traditional, retro, vintage, rustic and up-cycled furniture pieces and home decor. Evilena’s is also a women’s boutique, catering to savvy women of all ages, and fashion styles. Our designers and merchandisers arrange the store to inspire your creative spirit. We are proud to say that our store is transformed every day!

We opened in August of 2009 on the southwest corner of LaGrange Rd and Colorado Ave in Frankfort, IL. selling furniture and home decor. In 2014, we expanded across the street to the southeast corner plaza, at which time we added women’s clothing. In 2015 the first store was closed and we currently have one store. This is the reason for the Evilena’s Red Dresser II on the sign on our current storefront facing north.

In the year 2016 we expanded into the then Starbucks storefront, which almost doubled our space. This allowed us to truly have a women’s boutique along with a furniture and home decor section of the store.

As a former nurse of 30 years, consignment was completely new to me. However, I always knew I wanted to continue to serve the community, and had a passion for repurposing things. So after months of prayer, an entrepreneur class through Governor’s State University /Prairie State College, along with “The Artist’s Way” class at Union Street Gallery, a consignment store was born. My mom, Evilena, was my inspiration, as she was the queen of recycling and repurposing! Red had been my favorite color for most of my life, and furniture was what I planned to sell, so hence the name of the store, Evilena’s Red Dresser.

My mom went home to be with the Lord on October 24, 2018, at age 101.5, but she celebrated 9 store anniversaries and 9 birthdays at the store. This was truly a blessing and honor for me to celebrate my mom with the community.

My goal is toward excellence, which is always a work-in-progress through trial and error, successes and failures. I do my best to serve the community in the way that God leads me. I’m truly grateful to be a part of the community in this organic and ever changing business.
