Get To Know “Journey” - Our 2023 Garden Walk Featured Charity

We are so excited to share a bit about Journey - the wonderful organization that we will be supporting through the 2023 Frankfort Garden Walk on Saturday, June 24, 2023!

 

Journey was founded in 2012 as a resource and support for pregnant mothers and children.  Founders, Margie and Christine, had a vision for a safe space for mothers and babies, and to provide assistance and resources to women who found themselves in difficult or challenging circumstances. Since that time, Journey has grown and expanded its outreach to offer guidance, mentoring, and support to individuals and families of many different needs and circumstances.

 

 

Journey’s unique relational approach offers a concept of compassionate care for pregnancy, counseling, and support. They accomplish this through the art and ministry of true intentional mentoring and family resources. 

 

 

 

Through thoughtful design, an engaging inspiring environment, and spaces to encourage deep connection, community, and friendship, they have served over 3,000 hearts and championed for the countless generations ahead! 

 

Journey is supported by proceeds from their lovely gift shop, as well as by the generosity of donors, local businesses, and volunteers who work in the shop, help at special events, and drop off NEW baby items such as boxes of diapers, wipes, onesies, and supplies to benefit the many families who are currently being nurtured by the staff at Journey.

The Journey Goods boutique features a carefully curated collection of modern and vintage finds.  You’ll find home decor, gifts, body care, jewelry, notecards, clothing and accessories, and artisanal treasures, all ethically and locally crafted.

Evilena’s Red Dresser shares a like-minded mission with Journey.  We are partnering with Journey at the 2023 Frankfort Garden Walk to offer support to the people of our local community.  Our common goal is to care for the whole person - and to help Journey continue their valuable work of guiding individuals on a safe journey to family, purpose, and wholeness. 

 

Each day, Journey meets with people from all walks of life. Mentoring is at the heart of what they do.  Women and girls who might be facing an uncertain future…people who may be walking through a season of grief, fear, disconnection, or transition…widows, children, grandparents, single parents…hearts that need encouragement, guidance, tangible and emotional support - Journey provides a safe and confidential space for these individuals to be nurtured.  

The mission of Journey launches from God’s purposes outlined in Isaiah 42:16
