Thankful • Grateful • Blessed
We hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving with beloved family and friends! With December just around the corner, our hope and prayer is that you can sense the true reason for the season of Christmas! We love because God first loved us. We give because He first gave to us. We share joy with others because the birth of Jesus came with great joy! We rejoice in the Lord because God sent a Saviour to earth to offer salvation to all! We forgive others because God offers forgiveness to us. We are kind to all because Christ is our example...

October 2021 Faith > Fear
October...the month of cool evenings, crisp leaves, pumpkin-everything, and harvest celebrations! It is also the month of Halloween. Neighborhood yards, homes, and businesses are transformed into frightfully “festive” scenes of ghoulish gatherings and scary creatures. Events such as haunted houses, fright nights, and costume parties fill the calendar. For Christians, this season of “festive fear” can sometimes feel like a “celebration” of spiritual darkness. The purpose of this post is not to debate Halloween, but rather to consider fear, and how it creeps into our life, and how to dispel fear from a point of faith. September ~ Home Style
Be•YOU•tiful Style At Home Last month we talked about developing your personal wardrobe style, and wasn’t that fun? This month, we are going to dive into recognizing your own beautiful, personal style in your home. One of our missions at Evilena’s Red Dresser is to help people during times of transition. Be•YOU•tiful Style

Would you say you are Classic? Boho? Casual? Glam? Trendy? Practical? Edgy? Vintage? Bold? Avant-garde? Perhaps a combination of multiple styles? Your style is a creative expression of who you are, and of how you present yourself to the world. In the upcoming weeks, Evilena’s Red Dresser will focus on personal style, and share ideas and thoughts for developing, honing, and appreciating your own style in wardrobe, in home decor, and in developing the gifts that...

July 2021 Blog ~ Perspective
Last Saturday was a very rainy day here in our Evilena’s Red Dresser neighborhood! It also happened to be the day of our Garden Walk. Weeks of planning and preparation went into this very special benefit event. Our goal was (and still is) to raise $20,000 to give to Ms. Pearl’s Good News Daycare & Coffee House in Chicago. This is a vibrant organization in the heart of one of Chicago’s most impoverished neighborhoods. We had the privilege of visiting the Good News Daycare a few weeks ago, and our hearts were deeply touched and stirred to support this exciting...

Evilena's Garden Walk Mission
“God is unstoppable.” Ms. Pearl Willis sat on the front porch of the Good News Coffee Shop in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago, and shared with us story after story of God’s “unstoppable-ness.” Her testimony is a story of hope, and of the providence and provision of the Lord, and Ms. Pearl was happy to share with us the many blessings that she has seen over the past 30 years in her Roseland neighborhood. Ms. Pearl began by saying “This is not something that I had planned to do with my life...but I truly believe the Word of God when...
